Abstract
The lack of integration among the factors involved in the wood
sawing planning process creates a gap in the production system and,
thus, technical-economic inefficiency in these industries. In this
paper we propose a Lexicographic Goal Programming model that enables
the consideration of several criteria sequentially; first,
production, as traditionally carried out, then performance, and
finally appropriate use of the levels of warehoused logs. This
multi-objective model is applied to a Cuban sawmill and a
metaheuristic method is developed and implemented in order to solve
it.
